MUSINGS FROM THE FARM
Mt. Caesar Alpacas is committed to the sustainability of our planet. We use only ethically sourced materials in our designs. Our ALPACA products are all natural, made exclusively with 100% natural alpaca fiber which is grown and shorn annually, primarily by small family farmers in the Peruvian Highlands.
Because our garments are all natural, they are 100% biodegradable and compost back into the land. Energy used in the production of ALPACA fiber is 90% less than that required in the production of synthetics. The production of ALPACA fiber is also carbon neutral.
Natural fibers are of major economic importance to many developing countries and vital to the livelihoods and food security of millions of small scale farmers and processors, including 120,000 alpaca herding families in the Andes. By choosing natural fibers you boost the sector’s contribution to economic growth and help fight hunger and rural poverty.
Our Fall 2019 line of Women’s Alpaca Sweaters takes its inspiration from nature and combines the gorgeous colors of our New England fall to mix and match with the 22 natural colors of alpaca.
Each piece is hand-dyed in exquisite colors including the berry of the Silky Dogwood tree or the deep plum of wild Concord grapes. We’ve incorporated the colors of maple leaves in the fall, the silver tipped field grass and the Claret color of the Beebalm along with colors of Rose Flox, and Blush Hydrangea.
